Wishing a Tres Fab Birthday to Jensen Ackles

American actor Jensen Ackles turns 33 today. Born in Dallas, Texas, Jensen modelled on and off since the age of four, but began to concentrate on his acting career in 1996. He is notable for his television roles as Eric Brady in Days of Our Lives, Alec/X5-494 in Dark Angel and as Jason Teague in Smallville. However he is now best known for his ongoing role as Dean Winchester on the CW television series Supernatural, in which he stars alongside Jared Padalecki, who plays his onscreen brother Sam Winchester. The two acting 'brothers' are now good friends in real life. Said Jensen of Jared: "Jared and I are lucky to get along so well without having any effort to make. One day, the producers came to see us and told us they have never worked with actors who got along so well. It gives us the opportunity to make the relationship between Sam and Dean have credibility. I think the audience feels how much Jared and I like being together." Writers of Slash fiction certainly feel it, having dubbed a new word for fans literary pairing of the two brothers: "Wincest". Jensen is a known fan of the Dallas Cowboys, enjoys horseback riding, and also sings and plays guitar. He also has a down to earth Texan view on fashion, once quoted as saying, "Being from Texas, I would say I favour a pair of jeans you can wear some boots with."
